Energy efficiency is at the core of process engineering and the design of heat recovery networks in process plants has a large impact on the final energy intensity of process systems.
Software tools such as HX-Net and ExchangerNet can be used to assist process engineers in the selection of the optimal configurations of these networks of heat exchangers.
